Dasara movie review and story -Nani-starrer raw and gritty tale derailed by poor narration

Dasara movie story-

Opening shot of a village in Godhavarikhani, where Dharani (Nani) and his friends Soori (Dheekshith Shetty) and others are shown to be addicted to alcohol. Vennela (Keerthy Suresh) is their common friend since childhood. The village has two factions competing for power, Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko) representing the Silk Bar and Rajanna (Sai Kumar) representing the other group.

Chinna Nambi becomes the Sarpanch and manages to shut down Rajanna’s group. However, Soori and his friends help Rajanna win the next election, and he becomes the Sarpanch. On the night of Soori’s wedding to Vennela, he is killed, and the mystery of who killed him forms the crux of the story.

Important Fact About Dasara movie 

  • Dasara marks Nani’s first mass role, and he delivers an exemplary performance. His attire, body language, and dialogue delivery are all on point. Keerthy Suresh is flawless in her role as Vennela, and her performance and dialogues feel natural. Dheekshith Shetty and Shine Tom Chacko also put in impressive performances.
  • Srikanth Odela, the debut director, shows great skill on the big screen, but as a writer, he fails to choose a compelling story. The screenplay slows down in the second half, making it boring for the audience. Humour is also missing throughout the movie, and some dialogues are inaudible.
  • Music director Santhosh Narayanan’s music uplifts the movie, and Sathyan Sooryan’s camerawork is
    terrific. The makeup artists deserve praise for their excellent work.
  • Overall, Dasara is a gritty action drama with Nani’s outstanding performance. The movie is technically sound, and barring a few laggy portions in the second half, it is a perfect choice for the weekend.
